Flower Balms
Product Catalog > Apothecary > Flower Balms

Flower Balm- an anhydrous cream which harnesses the power of flowers. It can be used in a multitude of ways, which is probably the best thing about it! Multitasking IS winning.

You have the option of a .14oz chapstick-sized tube, or a .5oz jumbo tube.

Flower balm- ROSE is made with rose wax, which is a by-product of the production of rose essential oil, so naturally it has a rose scent to it- I have reinforced this with the addition of a tiny amount of Rose Otto. Overall, the scent is light and unobtrusive, though if you're really sensitive to smells (if you need unscented EVERYTHING) you might want to steer clear of this one. It won't conflict with your perfume or anything, but it's not a totally unscented product.

In addition to the wax, it's got a host of ingredients intended to provide a layer of emollience and impart lasting softness. Murumuru butter, jojoba oil, hemp seed oil, olive squalane, and a smattering of vitamins, to name a few (see ingredients list below). Because this product is anhydrous- no water- it needs no preservatives, which is nice to be able to say. I know, preservatives are necessary evils, and I do use them when they're needed, but I'm glad I can offer a lotion-y product which honestly just doesn't require them.

Usage varies; use a TINY amount (we're talking, smaller than a pea) on still-damp just-washed hands for a light layer of moisture. Blend a slightly larger dab of product with water in the palms of your hands then spread over the skin for something more like a body butter. Use it straight out of the tin for a balmy salve. Personally I find it works best on wet skin, but different users reported various results during testing, so try it a few different ways until you find the method which works best for you. In addition to using it as a hand creme/cuticle balm, I also really like to slather it on my (dry) feet before bed and then cover them with cotton socks overnight, and I occasionally use it as a lip balm, and it saved my poor chapped nose the last time I got a cold. There are a ton of uses for Flower Balm, so you're sure to find a few that apply to you!

Store in a cool, dry place. Preferably in the dark- UV rays can degrade plant oils and drastically shorten their shelf life. Keep unused portion away from water to prolong its life. If stored in optimum conditions, this product should last 9 months to a year before you need to check it for rancidity; chances are, you'll use it up long before then, though! Due to the nature of the ingredients, you will want to refrain from hoarding this product because it does not have an indefinite shelf life. Besides, there's no reason to hoard it- you can always buy more!

As with all of my products, test first on a small area before applying all over the body. Don't eat it, keep it out of your eyes, and if you're using it on your feet, be careful you don't slip and fall. This product contains potential allergens, so please do check the ingredients list before purchasing if you have any known allergies.
