Scrubs
Product Catalog > Apothecary > Scrubs
Sweet Cream is an emulsifying scrub handmade by me in very small batches, 100% from scratch. Emulsifying means that when water hits it, the oils combine with the water and transform your scrub into a lotion-y substance which leaves a light layer of moisturizing oils on your skin, as opposed to rinsing totally clean like other scrubs. Along with the oils, it will also deposit a touch of fragrance, leaving your skin soft and sweet-smelling.
It's just dreamy. Scoop out a blob, you'll find its pretty solid, almost like a dough, and spread onto damp skin- it will melt and transform into a much more fluid scrub. Scrub the areas you want to exfoliate, and rinse. You get out of the shower and often you won't even need to use a separate product to moisturize- there's already a barrier on your skin (I recommend you *pat* dry instead of rubbing vigorously with a towel so as not to remove this layer of emollience)! With cocoa and shea butters, coconut, rice bran, grape seed, and olive oils, vitamin E and evaporated cane juice, this stuff packs a wallop when used to combat dry flaky skin, and is just amazing when used to polish those trouble spots like elbows and heels. Fair warning: It IS a bit on the scrubby side, but this can be countered by using less product, using less pressure when scrubbing, or by adding a little water to the blob of scrub after you remove it from the jar (don't add water to the jar, it will ruin the rest of your scrub!). I personally adore the scrubbiness of this product, as a lot of the others I've tried have left me wondering why I even bothered- the small amount of fine-grained sugar added didn't do much to exfoliate. Sweet Cream is a scrub which actually SCRUBS.
Jars are shatter-resistant plastic, so that if you drop yours in the shower you won't end up with broken glass everywhere. Labels are waterproof and should last at least as long as it takes for you to use up all the product. Store in a relatively cool place to avoid melting and possible separation; keep the lid on the jar when scrub is not in use.
Sweet Creams may melt in transit- if this happens, the sugar may settle to the bottom of the jar and leave a thick layer of butter (which may still be melted and liquified) on the top- if this happens, just let it cool a bit (the fridge will speed this up) and then stir with a skewer or a fork or what-have-you to redistribute the sugar in the butter.
INGREDIENTS: Evaporated Cane Juice, Coconut oil, Grape Seed oil, Rice Bran oil, Emulsifying wax, Stearic Acid, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Olive oil, Fragrance, Optiphen (paraben-free preservative), Vitamin E -----------------------------------------------------Sweet Cream is likely to make you and your bathroom surfaces a bit slippery, so please be careful both when using this product and immediately afterward, to avoid any unfortunate slips/falls.Product texture will vary depending on the temperature at which it is stored- it may be firmer for some people than it is for others. Regardless, when it is spread on your warm skin (in the warm shower) it will melt and do its job the same, no matter how it feels when cold.AND... as with ANY bath/body product you haven't used before, please test on a small area before applying all over, and don't use it at all if you have any question whatsoever as to your own tolerances for the listed ingredients. If you have an allergy to anything, please check my ingredients list BEFORE purchasing. Discontinue use if irritation occurs, keep out of eyes and don't apply to broken skin or mucous membranes.
